This is a hard hike, so having that many people and skill levels really slows down the climb. The groups were smaller (8) people versus larger companies, which had anywhere from 15-30 people. They brought us warm food and hot chocolate to our cabins while they were getting soaked in the rain. We were rained on that night, but Benjamin and Cesar went out of their way to take care of us. The food prepared was great! Their base camp is the highest on the mountain, giving incredible Fuego views. It’s a challenging hike, but they will go as slow as you need and provide plenty of breaks. Incredible tour! Benjamin and Cesar were great guides and made sure we were well taken care of. Just know you have to pay for the park entrance separately and you have to rent from them the gear such as headlamps and sticks to help you with the climb. Thank you Cesar and Benjamin for such a wonderful adventure. If I ever go back, I will choose them again. I chose this company specifically because they do smaller groups and their camp is the highest one in Acatenango, so you have the most beautiful view when you get to the top. We had a great day since we were able to watch el fuego volcanic eruptions over and over again, it was more or less like 20 to 30 minutes between eruptions. My recommendation to finish this great adventure is just to put one foot in front of the other and you will get to the top. This was the hardest thing that I had ever done in my life and he was there every step of the way helping us through it all. He was so encouraging, kind and attentive. Our guides were Benjamin and Cesar and they were the best guides ever, especially Cesar.
